    Applied Insight (AI) is seeking a LAN/WAN Unified Communications Network Engineer in Washington, DC. 


    The position requires excellent problem-solving skills working with cutting edge technologies in Unified Communications (UC) technologies. In this role you will be responsible for design, implementation, modification and maintenance of complex technical environments, networks, and systems. Must have strong experience with UCCX (scripting & reporting), IP routing and switching within LAN and WAN environments, and extensive IPT experience in Cisco based product lines. You will be responsible for network infrastructure engineering support services, including but not limited to installing and configuring network equipment, monitoring network infrastructure health, patch management, and supporting connectivity to other networks, facilities, and services.


    • Support CUCM 9x and 10x
    • Support Cisco Unity connection
    • Support UCCX, including scripting and reporting
    • Support Cisco Emergency Responder
    • Support InformaCast Paging and multicast
    • Support Cisco Communicator and Jabber
    • Install and configure Cisco routers to support SRST and H.323 dial peers
    • Responsible for ticket management
    • Escalation point for all other engineers during assigned shift
    • Serve as a primary or secondary on-call engineer on a rotating schedule (shared across all team members)
    • Configure WAN/LAN (hardware, software)
    • Document network diagrams, infrastructure, IP addressing schemes, routing, security policies, and load-sharing
    • Develop and document UC provisioning requirements, standard operating procedures and policies
    • Heavy involvement in O&M support and trouble-shooting of any network related issues covering the entire enterprise (LAN/WAN/Data Center, Internet/TIC, etc.)
    • Support QoS, multicast, and content delivery
    • Coordinate resolution of UC-related problems with third parties, including public carriers, ISP and external vendors
    • Ideal candidate will act as a Tier III engineer


    • 6+ years IPT background, with experience in Cisco based product line
    • 5+ years LAN/WAN (IP routing & switching) experience
    • Cisco Certified CCNA R/S, CCNA Collaboration, CCVP desired 
    • Strong knowledge and proven experience with UCCX, including scripting and reporting
    • Support large Unified Communication cluster with 10,000 end devices with multiple clusters
    • Firm understanding of Cisco UCS environment and ESXi
    • Strong experience in Cisco Routing and Switching including knowledge of MultiCast, QoS, IOS Security, and content delivery
    • Good understanding of dial plans and SIP routing , MGCP, H.323, Skinny
    • Good understanding of routing and switching as required for Unified Communications best practices
    • Hands-on experience with Cisco CUBE and/or ACME Packet
    • Must be US citizen and be able to pass FBI background check
    • Work site is in Washington DC
