    Applied Insight (AI) is seeking a Project Manager (Architecture Team) in Washington, D.C. 

    Responsibilities

    The contractor "Project Manager (Architecture)" will provide support to the DTS COO Architecture Team in managing multiple, concurrent information technology projects of varying complexity, ranging from short term single-person work efforts to highly complex endeavors involving both internal and external resources and stakeholders. The Project Manager must utilize a traditional PMI PMBOK approach to manage the entire project lifecycle, while ensuring compliance with one or more Judiciary standards for project reporting, including the Judiciary IT Project Management framework as well as any new standards developed within the COO office. The Project Manager will be accountable for the timely and effective delivery of services associated with projects. 

     

    The Project Manager will:

    • Manage, track, and report IT projects through their full lifecycle
    • Rapidly adapt project management processes to work around incomplete, ambiguous, and/or evolving requirements
    • Work through resource constraints and challenges, utilizing exceptional skills and ingenuity to manage expectations, prioritize, multi-task, problem-solve, and allocate tasks strategically
    • Help ensure people have the information, tools, and support necessary to perform their tasks. Resolve issues and provide hands on support when necessary
    • Develop project management deliverables, including project charters, project plans, schedules, reports, and briefings
    • Communicate clearly, effectively, and proactively with peers and government managers
    • Exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills in working with others. Avoid and help resolve conflicts, motivate others, and otherwise take a positive role in developing a culture of teamwork and excellence
    • Build strong, positive, and symbiotic relationships with stakeholders and peers across external organizations and collaboration groups  

    Qualifications

    The candidate must have IT-related project management experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies: 

    • Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail
    • Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organization outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services
    • Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately
    • Written Communication: Writes technical and executive level documents clearly and with logical organization, structure, and formatting so as to be easily digestible by intended audiences
    • Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations

    Technical Requirements:

    • PMP and/or formal training in traditional PMI PMBOK-style project management required
    • ITIL and service management training and/or certification preferred
    • Post secondary education: 2-year degree in a related field is required. 4-year degree or advanced degree in a related field is preferred. Education must be verifiable and from an accredited college or university
    • Required: 5+ years of full-time work experience as a project manager, managing complex IT projects
    • Required: 3+ years of full-time work experience in a hands on technical IT project role, such as systems engineering, solution architecture, or systems and business analysis
    • Preferred: 3+ years of interaction with enterprise architecture organizations and requirements, either as a member of an EA team or as a stakeholder engaging in activities related to EA
